...As we celebrated [Sunday, June 3] at the cathedral, the Holy Spirit came upon the early disciples after Jesus’ resurrection to lead them into all truth and to empower them to carry on God’s work in the world.  But this is not some sort of “new Spirit”: this is the same Spirit who, personified as “Lady Wisdom” in the Hebrew Scriptures, was present with the Father at the Creation.   She brought the life of God to all creation, making it holy, as its Creator is holy.  She spoke through the prophets and led Jesus throughout his life and ministry.  She continues to give us life and to empower us in the ministry with which we have been charged: reconciling all things to God and to one another in the eternal Kingdom of God...
